ETCHE-AMERICA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

Etche America Foundation (EAF) is embarking on the 4^th PHASE of its Scholarship Scheme. EAF plans to award scholarships to six (6) students; 1 from each of the 6 Clans of Etche. The value of the scholarship award is N150, 000.00 (One hundred and fifty thousand Naira) per student for each academic year and is renewable for the entire duration of the student’s course subject to the student maintaining a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 or its equivalent.

The duration of the scholarship would not exceed the minimum number of years required to complete the program as per the University’s schedule.

The scholarship is aimed at recognizing and rewarding academic excellence while providing financial assistance to students who might otherwise be unable to pay for their tertiary education.

To Be Eligible, Interested Candidates MUST:

1. Be of Etche Ethnic Nationality in Rivers State, Nigeria
2. Be either a 100 Level student in a Federal or State University in Nigeria or would have successfully secured admission into a Federal or State University in Nigeria by the 2022/2023 academic year
3. Demonstrate evidence of Need & Financial Hardship (evidence that without the scholarship award, they might ordinarily be unable to attend University).
4. Have a minimum of 5 O’level credit passes, including English and
5. Be working towards securing admission or already studying one of the following courses at 100 Level:

• • Engineering & Geology
  • Medicine (and Medical Sciences)
  • Information Technology
  • Law

How to Apply

 To qualify for consideration, applicants must complete an Application Form obtainable from one of the following methods:

1. “Proud To Be Etche” (PTE) Forum on Facebook or “Omuma Online Forum” (OOF)also on Facebook.

1. Local Government Council Secretariats of both Etche & Omuma Local Government
2. We will publish it on our website and social media handles when you can download or fill out the form.

Completed forms MUST be submitted with Scanned Copies of the following credentials:

1. SSCE/NECO/GCE O’Level
2. Admission Letter into an institution with information on the course of study, and year of entry.
3. Local Government Identification Letter
4. Color passport size
5. Valid student identity card or any other means of identification (National D, International passport or Driver’s license, etc.)
6. Duly signed Letter of Recommendation from the relevant Head of Department in their respective schools.

The Application form must be endorsed by ANY TWO of the following persons

• 1. The village chief of your community (Ochimba)
  2. The traditional ruler in charge of your (Onye-Ishi Agwuru)
  3. A High Court Judge
  4. The member representing your constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly. 

Applicant’s details will be verified, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for an Assessment Test on a date and venue to be determined by EAF. Shortlisted Candidates MUST attend the Assessment Test with the ORIGINALS of all the documents mentioned above.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED AND EAF SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINAL SELECTION OF SUCCESSFUL AWARDEES.
